Brief Description:

This webinar talks about common ingestions, recognition of toxidromes and prehospital management of common toxic ingestions.

Upon completion of this webinar you will be able to:

  • Recognize the signs and symptoms of common ingestions and exposures.
  • Recognize the classical toxidromes of sympathomimetic, antichoinergics, cholinergics, and sedative/hypnotics.
  • Describe the pathophysiology of the above toxidromes.
  • Immediate management of various toxidromes in the prehospital environment.
  • Describe indications and contraindications to prehospital use of naloxone in the opioid toxic patient
