Rounds Details:

Date: Tuesday December 16, 2014

Presented by: Dr. Matt Davis (Medical Director of Education) and Christine Hardie (Prehospital Care Specialist)

Brief Description:

It may have been quite some time since your last capnography review, so we are glad we can be here to share one with you!

Recall that capnography is a method of monitoring the concentration of CO2 in respiratory gases, and when measured is depicted on a graph much like an ECG.

Now that many of your EMS Services are carrying ETCO2 detectors, we thought a review was in order.

Upon watching this webinar, you will be able to:
• Recall the physiology of ventilation
• Recognize the benefits of capnography
• Identify the role of ETCO2 monitoring in the prehospital setting
• Integrate capnography into current practice
