Rounds Details:

Date: Monday March 18, 2013

Presented by: Dr. Chris Lee (PGY 2), and Dr. Matt Davis (Interim Medical Director for Education)

Brief Description:

Crackles can be more than CHF, much like wheezes can be more than COPD. Shortness of breath is a complaint we’re often called to, and these patients can lead to either serious or not-so-serious return priorities. The problem is that it is sometimes difficult to tell between the two. Tune in to this webinar to learn what common pathophysiologies make our patients SOB, and pick up a few tools to distinguish between them.

Paramedics of all levels will benefit from joining this paramedic rounds presentation, as you will be able to:

- Describe comprehensive pre-hospital differential diagnoses of SOB,

- Distinguish between the common causes of SOB, and

- Apply pre-hospital SOB treatments to various patient care scenarios according to the Advanced Life Care Patient Care Standards.
