Presented by: Dr. Mike Peddle, Assistant Medical Director, Southwest Ontario Regional Base Hospital Program

Brief Description:

Many Canadians of all ages are actively participating in sports at a variety of levels - from the avid athlete to the weekend warrior. It is important for paramedics to have an understanding of some of the more common presenting sports injuries that may be encountered during on-field coverage of, or an EMS response to, a sporting event, along with the appropriate initial assessment and management.

Paramedics of all levels will benefit from joining this webinar focusing on Sports Injuries, as you will be able to:

  • Describe the pathophysiology of some of the common presenting sport injuries.
  • Recognize the key symptoms and physical exam findings of some of the common presenting sport injuries.
  • Explain how to appropriately, safely and effectively remove the proper equipment often encountered at high risk sporting events
