Paramedic Registry

We are very pleased to launch the online Paramedic Registry. The Registry will allow paramedics and service operators to manage a variety of activities like viewing up to date contact information, manage Continuing Education (CE) hours and print certification letters.

Submitting Courses for CE

There are three ways for paramedics to enter courses into the registry:

  1. Base Hospital Delivers the Course

Examples: Recertification course, Paramedic Rounds (either in attendance or submitting a rounds review). Base Hospital will enter CE for courses delivered by either by Base Hospital or in cooperation with the service such as CPAP or 12-Lead ECG. The paramedic does not submit these courses - it will appear as soon as the course roster is processed by Base Hospital.

  1. Service Delivers the Course

Services can have Base Hospital reviewed a course and award it CE prior to teaching the course. Once it is approved by Base Hospital, the service has the ability to enter course information into the registry. Again, the paramedic does not submit these courses - the service will enter the information for all paramedics completing the course.

  1. Paramedic Attends Other Courses

Paramedics often seek out their own CE opportunities and submit these for approval.  In the paramedic Manage Education section, you have two options:

  1. First, check the drop down-list of pre-approved courses.  These CE courses have already been approved for a set number of points.  If your course appears here (e.g. Talk Trauma Conference), select it from the list, enter the date you attended and click the submit button - do not enter any information in the bottom section.

  1. If your course does not appear in the drop-down list, enter the information in the bottom section including a description about the course.  As always, you can check with Base Hospital in advance to see if CE points will be given for the course.  In both cases, you will need to send (mail, fax or email) a copy of your certificate of attendance to Base Hospital.
