Overview:
While diagnostic ultrasound at the bedside is rapidly growing, the availability of training courses, skills and clinical mentors remain limited for active critical care, emergency and trauma physicians and residents. CSTAR’s Critical Care Bedside Ultrasound Update 2010 provides advanced, hands-on training to a broad range of practicing physicians bringing together top experts in the field to teach a well-defined, skills-oriented curriculum.
Program Objective:
• Comprehensive review of ultrasound physics/knoboloby and indications for ultrasound use
• Update on applications of newer technologies used in bedside ultrasound
• Review of pertinent anatomy
• Provision of hands-on experiences in the simulated bedside setting
• Live demonstration on volunteers
Target Audience:
LHSC critical care and trauma/general surgery residents
