Intensive Care at University Hospital

Intensive Care at University Hospital is comprised of two distinct intensive care units: the Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Unit (MSICU) has 24 beds and the Cardiac Surgery Recovery Unit (CSRU) has 14 beds.

The MSICU specializes in the care of various patient populations including neurosurgery, transplantation, medical and general surgery patients.

The CSRU specializes in the post-operative care of patients who have had cardiovascular surgery such as heart bypass or heart valve replacements.

Both units have state-of-the-art equipment and specially trained staff to meet the complex needs of the critically ill patients.

The Critical Care Outreach Team (CCOT) is comprised of nurses, physicians, respiratory therapists who bring critical care support to London Health Sciences Centre's (LHSC) patients beyond the walls of the ICU.
