The Orthopaedics Program at the London Health Sciences Centre, University Hospital, provides clinical services to residents in the region of the South West Local Health Integration Network (SWLHIN). With our partners, Orthopaedics offers specialized joint replacement care, education, surgical management and participation in related research. In 2006-2007, over 62,000 hip and knee joint replacement surgeries were performed across Canada (1), with approximately 1,300 carried out at University Hospital.
An integral part of Surgical Care, Orthopaedics has strong relationships with The Arthritis Society, Community Care Access Centre, Orthopaedic Physiotherapy at UH , Fowler-Kennedy Sports Medicine Clinic and the University of Western Ontario.
