Potential Instrument Contamination Update
Hospital Activates Patient Information Call Centre and Media Update Line
(LONDON, Ontario) - As reported earlier today, London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) cancelled surgeries, including ambulatory procedures, at its University Hospital site due to a potential instrument contamination as a result of a suspected Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD) case.
At noon today, LHSC opened a patient information call centre to address patient and family concerns at 1-866-313-5528. Calls will be answered by hospital staff between 7:30 am and 9:00 pm.
LHSC has also activated an automated Media Information Line at 519-685-8575 and will provide regular media updates via recorded messages.
