Ministry of Labour investigating death of London Health Sciences Centre staff member

(LONDON, Ontario) – London Health Sciences Centre is mourning the recent death of a valued staff member who was also a patient at our hospital. Due to patient privacy laws we can not comment on details. However, London Health Sciences Centre did immediately initiate contact with the Ministry of Labour as a result of the circumstances of the death.

The Ministry of Labour is now conducting an investigation. Once it is complete, the Ministry of Labour will issue a report which both the Ministry and the London Health Sciences Centre will make public. We do not believe there are any related health and safety risks for our staff and patients.

“Our focus right now is on supporting the investigation and responding to the needs of staff, co-workers and family,” says Cliff Nordal, London Health Sciences Centre President and Chief Executive Officer. “London Health Sciences Centre is committed to health and safety in the workplace and to safe patient care.”

We offer our sincere condolences to family, friends and colleagues.
