For Immediate Release:
April 19, 2010
(LONDON, Ontario) – London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) is pleased to help raise awareness for National Organ and Tissue Donation Awareness Week (April 18 to 25), through a celebration of LHSC’s Multi-Organ Transplant Program’s Garden of Life on Tuesday, April 20, 2010. This Garden is dedicated to organ and tissue donors. While serving as a tribute to donors and their families, it also symbolizes the chance for new life as a result of organ and tissue donation.
Each year this garden, located at the forks of the Thames River, is refreshed through donations from a number of community groups and businesses including the City of London, Fanshawe College, Old Navy 3329 and Parkway Gardens.
Speakers at the celebration include a donor family member, a heart transplant recipient and Transplant Program staff.
Date: Tuesday, April 20 Time: 3:00 p.m. Location:
