Official opening of the New Horizons Patient Resource Room

Offering mental health patients support and education in facing addiction challenges

(LONDON, Ontario) – Media are invited to attend an opening celebration of the New Horizons Resource Room. This room has been created to provide a safe and supportive environment for patients in LHSC’s Mental Health Care program to access information and peer to peer support in facing addiction challenges.

The room provides a meeting spot for weekly group support sessions led by nurses in the mental health program. It also serves as a resource library for patients seeking their own independent learning in this area.

Laurie Gould, Executive Vice President, Patient Centered Care, LHSC, and Dr. Beth Mitchell, Director, Mental Health Care Program, LHSC, will be on hand to discuss how this new space will positively impact patient care.
