The Employee Giving Campaign was the first of its kind at London Health Sciences Centre, encouraging and recognizing staff giving.

This year, the campaign raised funds not only for United Way of London & Middlesex but also London Health Sciences Foundation and Children’s Health Foundation.

On Thursday, Jan. 29, London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) staff announced that they raised a combined total of $182,329.35 for all three charities.

“We are pleased to have forged a new partnership to support important causes here at London Health Sciences Centre, and in our community,” says Cliff Nordal, President and Chief Executive Officer.

The goal of the campaign was to raise the culture of philanthropy amongst the staff and to make it easier for staff to contribute to their charity of choice using a single pledge form.

“The theme of this year's campaign was ‘Together We Can’,” says Nordal, “and I believe it is an eloquent expression of what we can achieve if we all work together in the spirit of collaboration — ‘collaboration’ being one of the core values of our organization.”

The dollars raised will be divided amongst the three charities according to the pledges. They are as follows:

Children’s Health Foundation: $5,567.99
London Health Sciences Foundation: $44,975.47
United Way of London & Middlesex: $131,785.89

“Our organization has a rich tradition of care and community outreach; for needs within our own programs, as well as needs within our broader community,” says Nordal.
