This position is covered by a collective agreement. Applications from outside the bargaining unit are welcome but can only be considered if the position is not filled from within this bargaining unit.
The Cancer Care Treatment Units services are located within the London Regional Cancer Program at the Victoria Hospital site of LHSC. The chemotherapy suite has 33 chair/bed carespots and an 8 chair/bed Oncology Day Unit. Nurses receive extensive specialized education in the administration of chemotherapy, safe handling of cytotoxic agents and managing patient care related to treatment. Nurses care for patients with central lines, those requiring transfusions and other cancer related treatments. Oncology Day Unit services patients requiring care/treatments associated with their chemotherapy/clinic visit. Patient Review supports patient care/treatments associated with radiation therapy. Team work is essential in this fast-paced and challenging environment.
