Cemented as an annual holiday tradition at London Health Sciences Centre’s London Regional Cancer Program (LRCP), eight physicians comprising “The Clinic Notes” ensemble performed a special Christmas concert for staff, patients and visitors tomorrow to celebrate the festive season.
“Today we want to share the gift of song with you our colleagues and patients,” said Dr. Scott Ernst, chief, medical oncology, LRCP, during the concert. “Everyone is welcome to join us in song, or to reflect about the year that has passed and your own hopes for the year ahead.”
Dr. Ernst (Baritone) was joined by his medical, surgical and radiation oncologist colleagues: Dr. Muriel Brackstone (alto), Dr. David D’Souza (piano), Dr. Mary Eisenhauer (flute), Dr. Alex Louie (tenor), Dr. Maria Parent (alto), Dr. Kylea Potvin (soprano), and Dr. Michael Sanatani (cello).
The ensemble sang holiday classics such as “The First Noel,” “Holly Jolly Christmas,” and “White Christmas,” but also songs such as “I Believe,” and “The Prayer.”
The holiday music was briefly joined by an emphatic ring as a patient struck the gong that sits in the atrium of LRCP signaling the end of her treatment. The ring lifted the crowd, and the applause, even higher.
