On January 11, the Mental Health & Addictions Crisis Centre opened for walk-in crisis support at 648 Huron Street, London. Operated by Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Middlesex and Addictions Services of Thames Valley, the Crisis Centre provides walk-in support 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and is accessible without a referral. Clients can expect to receive immediate crisis assessment, intervention, stabilization and links to community resources.
LHSC works closely with CMHA Middlesex and other community partners to help individuals get the supports they need in a crisis. The Crisis Centre is expected to ease the demands on LHSC’s Emergency Department, and assist in providing mental health and addiction support to individuals that do not require hospitalization or emergency intervention.
