Windsor family brings annual Christmas Eve hockey game to LHSC

December 27, 2013

The annual Christmas Eve Siddall-Thrasher hockey game is an event the whole family looks forward to every year. This year marks the ninth anniversary for this annual street hockey game, played by up to 30 members of the Siddall and Thrasher families – aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and close family friends.

This year, the family moved the annual Windsor game to the parking lot at LHSC’s Victoria Hospital so that one of the players (and cousin) – Kevin Siddall – could still watch the game. Kevin is a patient at LHSC’s Children’s Hospital and while he wasn’t able to play this year, the family wanted to be sure everyone could watch. That includes Grandma, who always oversees the ceremonial puck drop at 11:11am.

Special thanks to Clintar who helped prepare the parking lot surface making it perfect for play, and to Compass Group Foods for donating coffee and hot chocolate to warm the players up after a great game.
