The Middlesex-London Health Unit (MLHU) has issued an extended heat warning as the high temperatures and humidity currently being experienced in the region are expected to last through to Saturday, July 23. The heat warning will remain in effect until temperatures drop below 20 degrees Celsius, which is not expected until Saturday evening.
The combination of high temperatures and humidity can be very dangerous, resulting in heat-related illness that could require medical attention. LHSC and the MLHU recommends that anyone who is suffering from symptoms associated with extreme temperatures should seek immediate medical attention by either calling 911 or going to the nearest Emergency Department.
