Normal LTC Routes to University Hospital Resume March 22

Update: March 21

Load testing on Western’s University Drive bridge is now complete and larger-scale, articulated (60-foot) London Transit Commission (LTC) buses can once again cross the bridge. Starting Tuesday, March 22 the 6 Richmond, 6A Richmond and 13 Wellington buses will resume their normal routes. In the meantime, detour routes for the 6 Richmond, 6A Richmond and 13 Wellington remain in effect.

Update: March 10

London Transit Commission (LTC) is unable to operate 60-foot articulated buses across the University Drive Bridge, nearest to Delaware Hall at Western University.

Beginning the morning of Friday, March 11, the following detour will be in place for the following routes until further notice:

Route 6 Richmond & 6A

Buses will travel north on Richmond, west on Windermere, south on Perth, and west on the hospital access road (north of the parking garage). The bus will stop at the stop sign nearest the parking garage.

13 Wellington

Northbound – Buses will travel north on Richmond, west on Windermere, south on Perth, and right on the hospital access road (north of the parking garage). The bus will stop at the stop sign nearest the parking garage.

Southbound – Buses will travel south on Richmond, west on Windermere, south on Perth, and west on the Hospital Access Road (north of the parking garage). The bus will stop at the stop sign nearest the parking garage.

Safety Notice

Travelers departing from LTC buses to University Hospital are asked to walk along the sidewalk towards University Hospital and refrain from walking across parking lots or in the vicinity of parking gates.

There will be an increase in pedestrian and vehicular traffic on Perth Drive around University Hospital and everyone is asked to be cautious and vigilant when travelling in the area.
