Each year a list of quality and patient safety priorities for the province is given to all hospitals in Ontario, and each hospital is tasked with using this list to develop a Quality Improvement Plan (QIP). Since 2015, LHSC has been required to incorporate patient engagement strategies into the development of the QIP.
Every hospital in Ontario is required to set targets aimed at making improvements in the areas of integrated, safe, timely, effective, and patient and family centred care. LHSC is accountable for creating an action plan to achieve the QIP targets and reporting to the public on our performance and plans for improvement.
This year, LHSC has launched an extensive consultative process, seeking input from partner organizations, the London community, Middlesex County and our region at large, to ensure the priorities and indicators selected are aligned to organizational, regional and local opportunities for improvement. A brief online survey that will be open until December 23, 2017 has been created to solicit feedback.
We value the opinions of our patients, staff, physicians and community. We are asking for your help in not only completing the survey yourself, but in assisting us to get as many responses as possible! We also encourage you to share via your own social networks.
