When a stroke occurs many neurons in the brain are destroyed each minute. That's why it's so important to save time by calling 911 instead of driving yourself or having someone drive you to the nearest hospital.
No matter where you live, if you think you are having a stroke call 911 and the paramedics will take you to the nearest hospital that specializes in stroke care.
Did you know hospitals and their care partners in the South West LHIN* are working together to provide the best possible care for people who have a stroke or TIA (transient ischemic attack).
*The South West Local Health Integration Network (South West LHIN) serves Bruce, Elgin, Grey, Huron, Middlesex, Norfolk (west), Oxford and Perth counties.
