At Children’s Hospital, young people and their families are at the heart of everything we do. The Child & Youth Advisory Council (CYAC) brings the voice of these young people to leadership at Children’s Hospital, and is currently recruiting members!
Who can join CYAC?
Young people, ages 12-18, with recent experience as patients or family members at Children’s Hospital, are welcome to apply to join the CYAC. CYAC members are eligible to receive high school volunteer service hours for their involvement.
What does CYAC do?
CYAC meets in the early evening on the fourth Monday of each month, from September to June. CYAC members share opinions about Children’s Hospital with program leadership and create new initiatives such as video projects, programs like pet therapy, and events such as the Teddy Bear Picnic. The CYAC is also planning youth-to-youth peer support programs at Children’s Hospital.
