May 1, 2018
May 1st marks the 7th Annual Provincial Doctor’s Day, recognized by the Ontario Medical Association (OMA) as a day to celebrate the commitment and dedication of physicians to improving the health of all patients. This date was chosen to mark the birthday of Dr. Emily Stowe, Canada’s first female practicing physician.
Every day, more than 320,000 patients across the province are treated and cared for by doctors. Whether it’s in a hospital, a long-term care home, a clinic or at a patient’s home, Ontario’s doctors make a positive difference in the lives of patients by providing the highest quality of care.
The theme of this year’s celebration is “Defining Moment’, and Ontarians are being encouraged to recognize the impact doctors have made in their lives via social media by tweeting the hashtags #LoveMyMD and #DefiningMoment.
Thank you for the care you provide and Happy Doctor's Day to all Professional Staff at London Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph’s Health Care London!
