A variety of transplant announcements and special events, organized by the Multi-Organ Transplant Program and various community groups, occur throughout the year.

Here are some upcoming events, but you may also want to see the special events section to find out about previous projects as well as annual events.

Upcoming Community Events

8th Annual Transplant Trot, April 28:

This annual event, in memory of Leslie Petter, helps increase awareness about organ donation and donor registration, encourages healthy living after transplantation, thanks living donors and donor families as well as raises funds for the Canadian Transplant Association and LHSC's transplant program. This year's event will include a 5-km run and a 3-km walk.

Early bird fee: $25 (until March 31)

Regular fee (April 1-28): $30

New Canvas of Life, May 29-June 7:

Join us on May 29 for New Canvas of Life, featuring an up-close and personal performance by Juno Award-winner, singer-songwriter Ron Sexsmith. During the reception, view the artwork for our online art auction, created by transplant recipients, living donors and medical staff, local artists and Canadian celebrities, such as Chris Hadfield and Rick Mercer. All artwork will be sold via online auction May 29-June 7, 2018.

Tickets available soon with proceeds supporting The Matthew Mailing Centre for Translational Transplant Studies and the MOTP Clinical Research Fund.

Canadian Transplant Games, July 2-7:

The next national transplant games will be held the first week of July in Vancouver, BC. Check out their Facebook page for more information or the CTA website.

Our e-store is a not-for-profit initiative with all proceeds from sales going towards further promotion of organ donation and transplantation. New quilts being created
The London Transplant Gift of Life Association is creating another Recipient Quilt and Donor Quilt. These quilts travel throughout the province, and the patches are a beautiful way to share personal experiences about donation and transplantation. If you are a transplant recipient, living donor, or donor family, please consider taking part by creating a patch and telling your story. See the original quilts and submission information:

London Transplant Gift of Life Association: Looking for volunteers

This organization welcomes new volunteers to help spread the word about organ donation. Anyone who is interested in helping is invited to join. The group is also welcoming Western and Fanshawe students to their student chapter. High school students can gain volunteer hours by taking part in events.
