PICC Line
ISAN supports the work of area providers in their effort to coordinate PICC line services in Thames Valley.

While initial efforts were designed to engage front line workers, the scope of the initiative was expanded to incorporate a system approach to the key issues of access, education and PICC Line standardization. An Education Workshop, designed to engaged both key decision makers and front line workers was held in March 2006.The session provided an opportunity for direct service providers and key decision makers in the hospital and community sectors to come together to discuss PICC line issues and to look at collaborative opportunities to address them.

The final report from ISAN, “ A System- Wide PICC Line Network. Barriers to Integration: Challenges to Creating a System- Wide PICC Line Network” is complete. The report details the work undertaken by ISAN on the issues and challenges associated with developing a district wide approach to PICC (Peripheral Intravenous Central Catheter) Line utilization.
