Racing Against Drugs (RAD)

Racing Against Drugs is for grade five students. The aim of the program is to increase health and safety knowledge particularly around drugs and Alcohol.

At the event, small groups of students are guided through a number of stations run by community partners (see list of partners below). The topics continue to evolve to meet the current needs often including; drugs, alcohol, tobacco, gambling, bullying (including internet safety), and fire safety. LHSC’s station typically focuses on brain development and how drugs and alcohol affect functioning by using a tic-tac-toe game.

London holds five days of RAD programming annually, communities surrounding London offer a RAD event every other year.

    • Locations: Woodstock, London, Port Stanley, Delaware, Lambton
    • Partners often include: OPP, Local police, Fire, EMS, Local Health Unit, Addiction Services, Crime Stoppers, Detention Centre
