LHSC Summer Student Hiring Process

Job Descriptions:

Primarily the positions which may become available are focused in our service areas. All positions are Temporary Casual therefore you are not guaranteed any number of hours. You may be prescheduled but mostly on-call thus working a lot of nights, weekends and holidays! Positions may be located at University Hospital, Victoria Hospital and/or South Street Hospital. Flexibility to work at any or all sites is required as departmental needs may vary.

Here is a brief overview of the possible vacancies

• Dietary Worker
• Porter
• Environmental Service Worker (ESW)
• Support Service Worker (SSW)

Qualifying Criteria:

a) Students must be attending full-time education in the Fall
b) Students must be at least 18 years of age
c) Students must be eligible to work from mid-May to the end of August

Application Packages with all documents as outlined below need to be submitted to Human Resources no later than December 30th, 2011 in order to be considered for the current summer hiring:

1. Completed LHSC Application Form *indicating summer employment
2. Copy of OSSD or equivalent *completion of grade 12 requirements at the time of application submission is required
3. Copy of resume
   
4. Three work-related references *If you do not have three work references, we will accept Teacher, Professor, or Volunteer references
