Epoprostenol (See LHSC PDAM for Dosing Information)
Caripul (epoprostenol - AS) This is the brand that is currently in use at LHSC. The salt used to suspend this form of epoprostenol proves a more stable solution (arginine and sucrose), therefore, it does not need to be kept on ice.
Flolan (epoprostenol - GM)
Flolan is suspended in Glycine and mannitol. This brand will only be seen in the rare patient who is on it at home. It MUST be kept on ice at all times.

1. These monographs are to considered as addendums to the London Health Sciences (LHSC) Parenteral Drug Administration Manual (PDAM).
2. Please refer to the LHSC Infusion Compatibility Chart for information on medication compatibility or call the Pharmacy Department.
3. All IV infusions in CCTC should be infused via an infusion pump. The monographs will specifically identify medications which should not be continued as infusions should there be pump failure or extenuating circumstances.
