Spiritual Care

Spiritual Care supports people of all faiths and those who consider themselves spiritual, but not religious. The spiritual care specialist works with patients to make their faith or spiritual values part of their treatment plan. Some of the services offered at LRCP include spiritual support and access to multi-faith rites.

The spiritual care specialist can help patients and their families:

• Gain spiritual strength through their experience with cancer
• Work through spiritual questions and cope with distress
• Look at beliefs that may cause them to feel cancer is a form of punishment
• Learn different ways to meditate and pray to lessen fear, anxiety, pain, and suffering
• Increase their inner strength to cope with cancer
