Pulmonary Exacerbations (Worsened Lung Infections)

Worsened lung infections are a common complication of CF. Symptoms could include but aren’t limited to the following: a change in lung condition indicated by an increased or decreased cough, change in sputum thickness or colour, chest pain, increased shortness of breath and blood in the sputum. Other symptoms could include fever, weight loss, and decrease in appetite, energy and activity level.
