Hysteroscopic Surgery (Hysteroscopy)
Hysteroscopy is a diagnostic and surgical procedure to explore and/or operate inside the uterine cavity using a small telescope with a fiber optic system called hysteroscope, inserted through the vagina into the uterus. During the operation, a gas or liquid is used to expand the uterine cavity to allow the doctor to see the organs. With the use of the hysteroscope, the doctor can examine the inside of the uterus, remove small samples for further investigation, treat some areas or correct some abnormalities.
