Treating Cancer

Treating cancer can be a complex process. You will no doubt have many questions as you go through the different treatment stages of your cancer journey.

The information in this section is a good place to learn about different treatment options like surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy. It also gives an overview of palliative medicine, which provides medical treatments that focus on symptoms rather than curing the illness.

You will meet many people who will be part of your healthcare team. This section provides an overview of their roles.

If you’re not from London and you are having chemotherapy, you can learn about having treatment closer to your home.

Finally, you will find information on how to participate in clinical trials. LRCP is very active in finding out how to make cancer treatments safer and more effective.
