A Note About Infections

Hand washing is the best way to protect your baby from getting infections. If your family and friends want to hold or touch your baby, ask them to wash their hands first. Ask them not to visit if they have a cold, diarrhea, any sign of infection or fever, a cold sore, or if they have had contact over the past month with someone with a communicable disease such as measles, mumps, or chicken pox. Your baby's health may be affected.
