Our thoracic surgery patient observation unit is known as C5-300 and is located in
Zone C Level 5.
This is a specialized unit consisting of many different staff members, including:

| 2 patient support workers | |
| 1 dietitian | |
| 1 occupational therapist | |
| 1 physical therapist | |
| 1 community care acces centre worker (CCAC) | |
| 1 social worker | |
| 1 coordinator | |

| 1 nurse practitioner | |
| 3 thoracic surgeons | |
| 3-4 residents |
C5-300 consists of 14 beds. Of these, there are 4-6 cardiac monitor beds that are nursed as 2 patients per 1 staff.
The staff are cardiac monitor certified, able to provide care to patients with arterial lines and non-invasive ventilation.
