Interpretation Services

For many patients and families, English is not their first language. We want every patient to feel confident that they understand the information their health care team is providing them.


If you need an interpreter for your visit, please tell your family physician’s secretary. The secretary at London Health Sciences Centre will arrange an interpreter for you on the day of your appointment at no cost. The interpreter will call you two days ahead of time to confirm your appointment and a place to meet you. Interpreters provide language translation for patients and their families, and provide support to people who are faced with language barriers.

Using an interpreter does not affect your right to privacy and confidentiality. The hospital uses professional health care interpreters.
