Research and training are the core activities of Canadian Surgical Technologies & Advanced Robotics (CSTAR) . Our research efforts are focused on development, testing, validation and clinical implementation of newly-developed minimally invasive surgery (MIS) technologies.
Our training efforts are focused on helping both students and working health care professionals gain the knowledge and skills they need to safely and effectively perform MIS procedures in the delivery of clinical care.
In addition, CSTAR helps prepare the next generation of engineering scientists through by providing a learning environment for graduate and post-graduate engineering students.
