Through its soon to be completed Kelman Centre for Advanced Learning, CSTAR (Canadian Surgical Technologies & Advanced Robotics) will provide Canada’s leading simulation training program for surgical knowledge and skills.
CSTAR helps the next generation of health care professionals, including medical students, residents, post graduate trainees, and others, learn the skills to competently perform minimally invasive surgery (MIS) procedures. CSTAR also develops education programming for working professionals wishing to learn new MIS procedures or to maintain their MIS skills.
With advanced robotic technology and surgical equipment, on-site labs, dedicated and flexible operating space, video monitoring and projection equipment, as well as outstanding support staff, CSTAR enables efficient and effective training for various groups and individuals.
In addition, CSTAR also develops education programming for many of its partners including those from industry.
