Faculty and Staff

Cathy Wood BSc., RPSGT

Cathy Wood initially developed an International Polysomnographic Technician Training program in response to an enquiry from an international Fellow who trained under Dr. Charles George, Director of the LHSC Sleep Medicine Clinic and Sleep Lab. He was very impressed with the expertise and knowledge of the staff and the excellent operation of the facility. International students were immersed in a thorough 6 month training program expanded from the in-house staff training program previously developed. This program was the building block of what is now the first Canadian Sleep Education program to be approved as an alternate educational pathway for establishing eligibility to sit for the RPSGT exam. This means that students who successfully complete our programs will be eligible to write the BRPT exam to obtain their Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) credentials. Cathy Wood has been invited to be an active member on the Canadian Sleep Society's Polysomnographic Technologist (PSGT) Educator Committee. With over 15 years of Sleep, Respiratory and Educational training experience, she is committed to the development of Sleep education.
