An observation experience/job shadow is an opportunity for a student or individual to learn about an area of health care by spending time with a hospital employee who is currently working in that role. This will appeal to individuals who are considering a career in health care and would benefit from seeing what the job would actually involve.
For patient safety and legal reasons, observers are not permitted to conduct any form of direct or indirect care. Observation experiences are typically one day or less, but can be longer if approved by the London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) Student Placement Supervisor and LHSC.
To request a non-medical observation experience/job shadow, please contact Student Affairs.
