Patients are eligible for this research study if they have had or are intending to have a surgical resection for removal of a lung cancer. This study will investigate the use of Melatonin in preventing lung cancer from recurring.
Melatonin is a hormone found in all living creatures that is normally released at night and helps to maintain our awake and sleep cycles. It is considered a Natural Health Product and is not a pharmaceutical drug. Melatonin has an effect on the immune system and recent scientific studies show that it might reduce the chance of lung cancer returning and also might improve the quality of life of patients with lung cancer.
