Trauma Research is a priority for the Program in fulfilling both a regional and provincial role as a Lead Trauma Hospital (LTH). The Trauma Program has a major interest in the epidemiology of injury, as well as a minor role in the "bench research" of physiological response to injury.
The Trauma Program has two research teams (adult and paediatric) that are collaborative, interdisciplinary teams responsible for facilitating the development and coordination of trauma research activities at LHSC.
Published articles by researchers with the Trauma Program can be found here.
The Trauma Program is also active in multi-centre, collaborative research on a national level through participation in the Canadian Trauma Trials Collaborative, a subcommittee of the Trauma Association of Canada (TAC).
