Elgin-St. Thomas Emergency Medical Services (EMS) holds an annual golf tournament with the goal of promoting awareness about LHSC's Transplant Program and the need to consider organ and tissue donation. Find out more about the EMS Charity Golf Tournament.
This is an organ and tissue donation awareness event to pay tribute to organ donor families. Transplant recipients, donor families, living donors, health-care professionals and interested public are all welcome to join the walk. Walkers begin in London and make their way to Windsor. You can show your support by walking part of the distance, sponsoring a walker, or making a donation. Proceeds from the London region go to the Multi-Organ Transplant Program, University Hospital, LHSC. To make an on-line donation, go to http://giftoflife.kintera.org. For more information, contact Tom Awad (tom@sportfestwindsor.org) or Roger Awad (roger@sportfestwindsor.org).
The Matthew Mailing Memorial Golf Tournament, established to celebrate the life of Matthew Mailing, enjoys great support from hospital staff, friends and family of the young man, who passed away in the summer of 2003 from complications related to transplant surgery. Find out more about the Matthew Mailing Memorial Golf Tournament.
In support of LHSC's Multi-Organ Transplant Program, Champion Bicycles organizes the "Ride for Pat", in memory of Pat - a heart transplant recipient who was passionate about cycling and donor awareness. This cycling event, held in August, offers both a 160-km and an 80-km option. Cyclists can register and collect pledges on-line via www.rideforpat.kintera.org. To find out more about the Ride for Pat, visit the website of Champion Bicycles or e-mail info@cbss.ca.
