 Are
Credit Unions Secure?
Members
deposits are insured b the Deposit Insurance Corporation of Ontario, a
provincial crown corporation. Each member if insured to a maximum
of $100,000 for the combined principal, interest and dividends of that
member's totals deposits. Funds held under a RRSP or RRIF contract
are separately insured up to $100,000 for each contract of that member.
Joint accounts and trust accounts are also insured separately to $100,000.
In addition, each person in a trust account is insured separately from
the others. Membership shares are NOT insured.
