The
Physician's Guide
is produced by the British Columbia Provincial Blood Coordinating Office.
This office is funded by and reports to the British Columbia Ministry
of Health Services.
Authored by a group of transfusion medicine experts, the Physician's
Guide provides details about transfusion-related risks and is intended
to serve as a resource to physicians in supporting the informed consent
process with their patients. In addition, this third edition of the
Physician's Guide includes guidelines for appropriate red blood cell
(RBC) utilization developed by the British Columbia Transfusion Medicine
Advisory Group.
