The Department of Pathology at LHSC has a long history of excellence in teaching. Through the clinical department, residency training programs in Anatomical Pathology, General Pathology and Neuropathology have thrived in the training of specialists who have gone on to prominent positions in Canada and around the world. Pathology faculty are heavily involved in the training of residents from other specialty training programs when these residents perform rotations in Pathology and at various Hospital Rounds. At the University of Western Ontario formal lectures are delivered by LHSC Pathologists to undergraduates (Pathology 240a), graduate students (MSc, PhD) and health profession students (Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, etc.). For Medical students alone, Pathologists deliver over 180 hours of lectures in the 4 year curriculum.

Members of the Department have received many clinical and undergraduate teaching awards over the years and the faculty's efforts are perennially highly rated by students at all levels.
