Purpose:
The leaders at LLSG are committed to the advancement of laboratory professionals through the funding of professional development opportunities.

These awards were established to provide financial assistance for learning initiatives that support professional development and promote the achievement of the organization's mission and goals.

The awards are intended to pay for, or offset the cost of tuition, textbooks, course materials, transportation and lodging to enable a London Laboratory Services Group employee to improve and apply the knowledge and/or skills to their workplace.

What Awards are available?

Ilaine Matuscin Memorial Award
The Hematology Department at London Health Sciences Centre and the London Laboratory Services Group offers a series of awards in memory of Ilaine Matuscin who passed away in March 2001. Each award will provide $500 toward continuing education for a London Laboratory Services Group Employee. One award will be given each year. Preference will be given to courses related to Transfusion Medicine.

LLSG Professional Development Awards
The LLSG Administrative Leadership has established an award for professional development. This award is supported by the LLSG Symposium funds and provides awards of up to $4000 per year with a maximum allocation of $1000 per recipient.

Who is eligible?
All full-time, part-time and casual London Laboratory Services Group (LLSG) employees who have completed one year of employment at LLSG are eligible to apply.

How do I apply?
To apply, complete an application form (approved by a Coordinator/Manager) accompanied by one letter of support, preferably from an immediate leader and send to the Administrative Director of LLSG. What is the application deadline?
Applications must be submitted to the Administrative Director of LLSG by April 1st to be considered and applications will be reviewed and an award announced by May 1st.

How are the funds disbursed?
Funds will be paid out upon completion of course work with submission of receipt(s).
