The study of diseases of blood cells and the clotting mechanisms of blood. Many of the tests performed in this group of laboratories are highly automated. In addition, many of the tests require technologists to observe stained smears of blood under a microscope.

The techniques used in this laboratory are manual and involve the use of computer images and cell culture techniques.
