London Health Sciences Centre Appoints New Board Chair
(LONDON, Ontario) - The London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Dan Ross has been appointed as the new Board Chair. For the last two years Ross has served as the Board's Vice Chair, and he brings eight years of hospital board experience to the position.
Dan Ross replaces Geoff Davies, who has completed his two-year term. LHSC President and CEO, Tony Dagnone, says, "Geoff Davies has made significant contributions to LHSC and we thank Geoff for his dedication, talent and leadership these last two years."
Ross is the Executive Vice President and Corporate Counsel of Crystallex International Corporation, and former managing partner of the London office of McCarthy Tetrault. He is a St. Thomas native, and a graduate of the Law School at the University of Western Ontario. Ross still has ties to Western as a Director with the Richard Ivey School of Business and its Foundation. Ross is also a dedicated volunteer in the London community and a former Chair of the London Health Sciences Foundation.
Among his many varied commitments was his appointment by the Province of Ontario as a Commissioner on the Health Services Restructuring Commission where he served from 1996 to 2000.
"Dan Ross brings a wealth of business and health expertise to LHSC. He is passionate about our community and will be a strong advocate for this hospital and the patients we care for," says Dagnone.
The LHSC Board has also appointed Jeff Low, Senior Vice President, Human Resources for CitiFinancial, and Doug Alexander, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Trojan Technologies, as Board Vice Chairs.
