LONDON, Ontario - Staff, physicians, students and volunteers of London Health Sciences Centre have donated over 1,350 new or gently used scarves, hats and mittens, along with some coats and hand-knit items, to those less fortunate in London and surrounding area.

“The Mitten Campaign gives warm winter clothes to people in need in our community,” says Bonnie Adamson, President and CEO, LHSC. “I am proud of the tremendous generosity demonstrated by our staff, physicians, students and volunteers, as they continue LHSC’s tradition of caring.”

The LHSC Mitten Campaign ran from November 22 to December 22, and donated items were given to the Children’s Aid Society of London & Middlesex, the Salvation Army, the Boys & Girls Club of London and Merrymount Children’s Centre on Wednesday, in time to deliver to children in need before Christmas.

Chris Harvey, the Director of Operations at the Boys & Girls Club of London says, "As an organization that supports children and youth in London, we truly appreciate the kind support from the London Health Sciences Centre. Their donation will help keep many children and youth warm this winter.”
