Surviving and thriving: Quality of life in the face of ovarian cancer
(LONDON, Ontario) Ovarian cancer is the fourth most common cause of cancer deaths in women in Canada. It is a "silent" killer that attacks with no early warning signs.
A patient from Southwestern Ontario currently undergoing treatment for ovarian cancer will share her story and experience at the Program Showcase presented by the Patient Care Committee of the London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) Board of Directors. The focus of the Program Showcase will be the Gynaecology/Oncology component of the Women's Care Program at LHSC.
The presentation will include a patient's story, a physician's perspective, and an overview of the large team of health care workers, including nurses, social workers, dietitians, pharmacists and physiotherapists, that are all involved in the care a patient receives at LHSC when battling ovarian cancer.
The media is invited to attend.
